Raghu Kondapalli is Director of Technology focused on Strategic Planning and Solution Architecture for the Network Solutions Group of LSI Corporation. He leads many strategic initiatives ranging from SDN, Network Virtualization, Openflow, Cloud RAN etc.

Kondapalli brings a rich experience and deep knowledge of the Cloud based, service provider & Enterprise Networking business, specifically in envisioning end to end solutions. Most recently he was a founder and CTO of a Cloud based video collaboration company Cloud Grapes Inc., where he was the chief architect for the cloud based video-as-a-service solution. Prior to Cloud Grapes, he led technology and architecture teams at AppliedMicro, Marvell, Nokia & Nortel. Kondapalli has about 35 patent applications in process and has been a thought leader behind many technologies at companies he worked at.

Kondapalli received a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from San Jose State University and a bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Telecommunications from Osmania University, India.

 

This webinar will look at the types of solutions that operators need to build carrier-grade software defined networks at both a silicon and a software level. LSI will discuss the implications of carrier SDN on silicon design for access and core networks and how there is no one-size-fits-all hardware strategy for SDN. On the software side, Aricent will look at the different types of applications that can be layered onto the SDN stack, the challenges of building and deploying SDN applications, and the benefits of this approach. 

Presenters will discuss how SDN applications help simplify the operations and management of complex carrier-grade networks, reduce time-to-market for new services, and above all, ensure better end-user experiences.
